DECIDE wins another prestigious DBA Design Effectiveness Award

The effectiveness of Decide’s packaging design system for babycare brand Nuby’s UK packaging has been recognised with a Design Effectiveness Award from the Design Business Association. DECIDE was one of only 28 design consultancies from across the UK to win one of these coveted awards that celebrate design solutions which demonstrate outstanding measurable business and societal impact. The design solution for the Nuby Steriliser was designed as part of a strategic identity system which has been applied across the whole New-Born range of products.

The objective of the brief was to grow sales of the Nuby Steriliser by 20%, no mean feat in a shrinking market, which, due to an ongoing fall in the birth rate, had witnessed the closure of Babies R Us, Mothercare and Mamas & Papas. In fact the design, which applied our unique d3thinking shopper insight tool to help optimise messaging and colour choice, resulted in a design system which embraced visual simplicity in what is a visually cluttered category, and was so successful that it increased sales by an impressive 47%, moving Nuby to no 2 brand in the category!
